The Limes have consistently broken attendance records at several of Vermont's best venues. Anchored by a rock solid rhythm section of bass, guitar, vintage keys and drums, with a layer of horns and two sensational singers, a Limes show guarantees high energy, enthusiasm and infectious grooves.

Flynn Center Main Stage, 4:30-5:30 p.m.,
with The Unknown Blues Band
The musicians in the The Unknown Blues Band
have played with blues legends such as Muddy Waters, John Lee Hooker,
Etta James, Junior Wells, Howlin' Wolf, Paul Butterfield, B.B. King, and
of course, Mr. Big Joe Burrell. Our favorite blues band will back 13-year-old blues-belter
Anneli Blume and others from among the
dozen kids featured on Even Kids Get the Blues. The recording's
authentic, original blues songs tackle the challenges of growing up with
sensitivity and a sense of humor. Bonnie Raitt herself praised the CD,
saying, "How great to hear kids singing blues they can mean!"
A special song for 9/11
Diana Winn would like to share this song, "Crow's
Wings," with all of you as the country remembers the attacks
of Sept. 11, 2001. Diana wrote the track, which features Diane Ziegler
on vocals and Chuck Eller on piano.

The Concert for the Lifeline, originally scheduled
for Sunday, Aug. 27, in Portland, Maine, has been postponed. The concert,
which was to feature Boston-based band Bellevue Cadillac with Re-Bop vocalist
Anneli Blume as a special guest, is a benefit for Marine
Animal Lifeline, a nonprofit organization dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating,
and releasing orphaned, ill, and injured marine animals.

Bonnie Raitt extends her support
from stage
During her recent tour stop in Burlington, Vt.,
Bonnie Raitt welcomed Re-Bops Diana
Winn and Anneli Blume back stage,
and graciously gave Anneli a shout-out during the concert, which garnered
a mention in the
Burlington Free Press' glowing review (10/22/05, Living section).
"[Raitt] took the time to recognize local musicians
in the crowd, naming first Grace Potter and her band and speaking of their
'mutual respect.' Then she gave a nod to pre-teen singer Anneli Blume,
who sings a song called 'I Wanna Be Bonnie' on the Re-Bop record, 'Even
Kids Get the Blues.' Anneli, delighted by the intro, rose from her chair,
waved her hands and shook her little-girl pony tail."
Anneli counts Bonnie Raitt as one of her primary
musical influences, and the two met in person at a concert last February
in Florida. Bonnie, who delivers a key line on "I Wanna Be Bonnie,"
first became aware of Anneli's talent and admiration for her during the
recording of the song in 2004.
Jean Paul Samputu welcomes Re-Bops
on stage
A
chorus of young Re-Bop voices joined Rwandan singer, songwriter, and musican
Jean Paul Samputu on stage for his April
performance at the Barre (Vt.) Opera House. The group of kids helped out
with the song "Karame Mwana (Cherish the Children)," off Samputu's
latest release Testimony
from Rwanda. Blending many styles and traditions
from Rwanda and other parts of Africa, Samputu's music testifies to the
1994 genocide, as well as to his hopes for the future.
